I picked the graffiti artist Claw because I thought it was really cool that she was the only woman graffiti artist in the documentary. The tag that she uses, Claw, is because it is a nickname to her name Claudia and because of her fashion interest. I thought that was really interesting that her graffiti has really given her a name in the fashion business as well and that people wear her logo of the claw on different clothing items. I thought the pathos or the emotional appeal of her art was that because it gave her this feeling of belonging and connecting to her surroundings. She even says its like a way for her to feel important to the city and her tags are a way of knowing she is a part of it and almost has her own little part of the city to herself. I think the ethos part of her graffiti is that she follows the rules of graffiti. She says that even though its illegal each artist has rules to follow to respect others work and to not go over it and she says she truly follows these rules and does not work over someone else's art. The logos or the logic of her graffiti is that if its something she loves to do so much why should she stop it? Even at the end of the documentary she says maybe she will give it up for awhile but she never thinks she can truly stop. She has kept doing graffiti all these years and her family does not really support it. Her sister thinks she is getting to old for her it and her mom just does not appreciate the art of it and thinks it is immature to put her name all around the city. I personally think her art is really unique and interesting and the fact that she is a woman going into these areas that are not the safest to do what she loves shows her true passion for it.
